Nagoya Castle

Nagoya Castle was burned down during the Second World War but
restored to its original state after the war.
Now, people around the region near Nagoya city visit it for sightseeing.

Nagoya Castle was the resident castle of Tokugawa Yoshinao,
son of Tokugawa Ieyasu
who ended the long Age of Civil [Provincial]
Wars at Sekigahara War in 1600 and had his main office in Edo
(called Tokyo later) and established the fondation of Edo Era over
about 260 years (1600 - 1867), making Edo the biggest city in Japan.
A pair of fabulous dolphinlike fish (made by gold) decorates the roof
of donjon of Nagoya Castle.
