| ２００６年５月４日、瀬戸市の自宅から徒歩１０分位の所にある元仁科会会長で 洋画家の北川民次画伯のアトリエへ行ってきました。 I went to Ex Atelier of the late Oil Painting Artist, Mr. Tamiji Kitagawa who was former chairman of "Nishinakai", one of the famous fine art group in Japan. The atelier was at about 10 minutes walk from my house. 毎年、この季節になると、画伯（１８９４年〜１９８９年）の第２次世界大戦中及び 戦後の疎開先での住居兼アトリエが公開されます。 画伯は１９４３年から２５年間、 妻の実家である瀬戸市に疎開。 In this season every year, the house and atelier was opened to the public. They were his wife's parental home where he and his wife were evacuated from war area during World War II He lived here for 25 years from 1943 今回は｢メキシコにゆかりのある地元作家絵画展｣も開催。 "Pictures drawin by local painters in conection with Mexico" were also exhibited this time. 画伯が愛したメキシコのタスコの町の風景画を中心とした絵画が展示されていました。 Painting mainly concerning landscape of a town, Tasko in Mexico ,which he loved, were displayed. メキシココーヒーやテキーラを少し頂いて、画伯の弟子とか孫弟子の方とちょっと、 お話をしました。 I talked with his pupil and his grand-pupil while having a bit of Mexico coffee and Tequila. 一旦、自宅に戻り、瀬戸市の赤津にあるレストラン｢セブングレイズ｣でディナー。 ここには民次の作品を展示してあるギャラリーがレストランに併設の窯元｢霞仙陶苑｣ の２階にあります。 After returning to my house, I went to a restaurant, "Seven Glaze" at Akazu, Seto City to have dinner. An exhibition room for Tamiji's work is provided at 2nd floor of a pottery, "Kasen Touen" adjoining the restaurant. |
