瀬戸蔵　－建築完成までの経緯と周辺の景色
Setogura - squence until completion of building and surrounding scenery

２００２年９月瀬戸市民会館は取り壊され,新市民センター（仮称）が２００５年３月オープンを
目指し、新築される事になりました。
２００３年,新市民センターは｢瀬戸蔵｣と命名され、産業観光と市民交流を支援する施設
として市民会館が果たしてきた以上の機能が期待されています。更に、瀬戸市全体を
ミュージアムに仕立てるという「せと・まるっとミュージアム」の拠点施設にもなります。
Seto civic hall is dismantled in September, 2002 and a new citizen center
(tentative name) will be built, aiming at opening.in March, 2005.
The new citizen center is named "Setogura" and is expected more function than
the civic hall played as an institution which supports an industrial sightseeing and
citizen exchange. This institution also turns into the base institution for Seto city
plan which makes all area of the city museum. The plan is called "Seto-Marutto
Museum".

瀬戸市は１９２９年愛知県で５番目に市制を敷かれしました。当時、市役所はここ蔵所町に
あり、１９５９年に現在の場所である追分町に移転。市民会館は１９５９年から２００２年まで
蔵所町にあり、２００５年には｢瀬戸蔵｣として再生します。
Seto was reorganized as the 5th city at Aichi prefecture in 1928. At that time, Seto
city office was located here in Kurasho-cho and has been transferred to Oiwake-cho
which is the present place in 1959. Seto civic hall was located at Kurasho-cho from 1959
through 2002, and will re-start as "Setogura" in 2005.

｢瀬戸蔵｣の１階飲食店舗に、岐阜県土岐市のキャビンが内定。同社は名古屋市や
岐阜県多治見市などで和風建築を基調とした飲食店を展開している。同社が選考された
大きな理由は｢長期的に安定した経営が期待できる事｣と｢陶器・陶磁器にたいする理解が
ある事｣という趣旨が中日新聞２００３年１０月の地方版（広報｢せと｣？）に報じられていました。
Restaurant called "Cabin" in Toki-city, Gifu was informally decided as the tenant at
the space for eating and drinking at the first floor. The owner of this restaurant is
developing restaurants which serve dishes in Japanese style building in several cities
such as Tajimi city, Gifu prefecture.　The reason why the restaurant has been selected
as the tenant is that stable management in the long run is expected and that the
tenant understand pottery and porcelain, said No. 1 local newspaper, Chunichi Shinbun
circulated in October, 2003 (or Seto City PR brochure, "Seto"?).

【瀬戸記念橋駅】　（引用：JR東海バスのホームページ）
駅名由来の「記念橋」とは大正天皇行幸を記念して架けられた橋のこと。
市内にＪＲ鉄道駅がない瀬戸市では、みどりの窓口がある瀬戸記念橋駅は、
新幹線特急券や指定券を購入する市民に重宝されている。残念な話ながら、
瀬戸市の区画整理事業によりこの駅の移転話が持ち上がっている。

Seto Kinenbashi (literally translated as "commemoration bridge" means the bridge
constructed by commemorating the Taisho Emperor outing. The Seto Kinenbashi station
which has Ticket Reservation Office in Seto City without JR railroad station is found
useful to the citizen who purchases a Shinkansen limited express ticket and a reserved
seat ticket. The station will be allegedly moved to the other place under rezoning of
land of the city.

【せと案内処（旧蔵所交番）】　<説明は２００４年１月１５日発行の｢広報せと｣から引用>
１９３９年に建てられ、瀬戸の名物になっていた蔵所交番が、２００３年１２月、末広町に
｢せと案内処｣として生まれ変わりました。　出来る限り既存の部材を使い、外壁は瀬戸の
やきものを使っています。　
また、建物の横にはエコ街灯も建てられました。太陽光発電、風力発電を利用した時計と
掲示板付きの街灯です。
せと・まるっとミュージアムの拠点の１つとして、ぜひお出かけ下さい。
【Seto Information Center <Ex Kurasho police box>】<Explanation is cited from
"Kouhou Seto" issued on Jan. 15, 2004>
Although Kurasho police box was built in 1939 and a local specialty, it ended the funtion
of security and has come to function as city information center in December, 2003.
Kurasho police box has been dismantled and reconstructed in a different place of Suehiro-cho
while using the existing material as far as possible. The outside wall uses ceramic made by
Seto.
On the side of this Seto Information Center, An energy saving streetlamp was installed.
This energy saving streetlamp is equipped with a clock and a notice board using solar power
generation and wind power generation.
Please come to this Information Center as one of bases for visiting "Seto Marutto Museum"
(meaning "whole Seto city colored like museum").
