I went to Yunoyama Hot Spring at the foot of Mt. Gozaisho, Mie Prefecture with my
mother, my elder sister and her husband and my wife on June 13, 2003. Although we
could arrive at the destination in about 2 hours when going direct from the house in
Seto City, Aichi Prefecturei, we dropped in at "138 Tower Park" which is one of Kiso
Three River parks dotted along the three rivers and managed by government (Three
rivers are composed of the Kiso, the Nagara and the Ibi rivers) in Ichinomiya City,
Aichi Prefecture on the way to Yunoyama Hot Spring. Although the above course was
as planned, the course which goes to Yunoyama Hot Spring from here was mistaken a
little, and we got into severe situation. In the next morning, we visited a theme park
called "Nabana-no-Sato" (literally translated as "home of rape blossoms") where
beatiful flowers, a hot spring, restaurants, and souvenir shops are arranged effectively.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (or a Prefecture in case of a
prefectural road?) should create a cautions board in clear Japanese so that the user
of a road may not be caused inconvenience. An irresponsible expression, such as
"Difficut to pass through ", should be changed at once. Going into the road was not
"forbidden" and the road blockade had not been carried out, either. So, we went into
the uneven way, and wanted to turn to the right on the way to go into the Tokai Big
Bridge. But only going straight was possible. So, we could not but run the uneven road
where a puddle is severe about 13km with the speed of about 20km/hour to the exit
at a crossing of the Tatsuta Big Bridge where there is another facilities of Kiso Three
River Park.

Note 1 [Partially quoting an explanation from an explanation board at the view space
     of "Twin Arch 138"]
Decisive battle at Sekigahara field - top two big hostile armed forces gathered.
East armed forces took up their position at the east of the Kiso river and deployed the
following three armies:
1st was "Tokaido army" with about 40,000 soldiers which was going west on Tokaido road,
composed of retainers each of Masanori Fukushima, Terumasa Ikeda, Tadaoki Hosokawa,
Nagamasa Kuroda and local feudal lords (or Daimyo) whom a former man of power,
Toyotomi favored.
2nd was "Nakasendo army" with about 40,000 soldiers which was going west on Nakasendo
road, composed of retainers each of Hidetada Tokugawa and feudal lords in hereditary
vassalage to the Tokugawa house
3rd was "Main army" composed of retainers of the remainder.

While, West armed forces deployed the following armies, facing the east ones:
In order to protect Tokaido road from the east armed forces, an army with about 40,000
soldiers mainly composed of retainers each of Hidemoto Mouri and Hideie Ukida.
In order to protect Hokuriku road, an army with about 20,000 mainly composed of retainers
of Yoshitugu Ohtani
In order to protect Nakasendo road, an army with about 30,000 mainly composed of
retainers of Mitunari Ishida and Yukinaga Konishi. They entered in the Ogaki castle on
August 11, 1600 to strengthen a defence of the west of the Kiso river.

War at Sekigahara "The Kiso River-Crossing Strategy"
An army composed of retainers of Terumasa Ikeda took its position at the east of Kiso
river on August 22, 1600. In order to intercept an activity of its hostile army, the lord of
Gifu castle. Hidenobu Oda divided its army to two parties and opened fire on the hostile
Ikeda party on the opposite shore. Decisive battle started at this moment.
