| ２００５年９月４日、瀬戸市文化センターで｢オペラ民吉｣を鑑賞してきました。 I appreciated performance of opera "Tamikichi" at Seto City Cultural Center on September 4, 2005. ウェブ作成者を含め、瀬戸市民の多くの方が一般的に民吉に関し知っている 情報では、今回のような素晴らしい後味が爽やかな｢オペラ民吉｣の上演を予測 することが出来なかったでしょう。 Many citizen including this web page maker in Seto City with general information about Tamikichi could not forecast this wonderful presentation of "Opera Tamikichi" with pleasant aftertaste. 民吉の足跡が現実の資料でわからない個所は関係者や関連資料などを基に 推測で補足し、｢オペラ民吉｣は仕上げられているという趣旨の説明がパンフレット に書いてありました。 How to complete the script on "Opera Tamikichi" is explaned in a pamphlet on the opera as follows: When footsteps are not found by real documents, the script has been supplemented and completed on basis of information from the person concerned or related documents. この｢オペラ民吉｣では関係者がどちらも、ある意味で幸せな気分になれる ストーリーとなっており、脚本作成にはかなり苦労されたことを推量できます。 A story on the opera will make both the person concerned feel happy. This will be owing to carefully planned script 従来は、民吉が今日で言う産業スパイで技術だけ修得して、現地、佐々村で 娶った女性とその間に出来た子供を捨てて瀬戸に戻ったように理解されがち でしたが、今回の｢オペラ民吉｣は、そうではないより説得力がある状況を提示 してくれました。 In the past, it tended to be understood that Tamikichi learned Arita-porcelain producing technology as a kind of an industrial spy and returned to Seto with his married woman and their childin staying in Sasa village. This time, the opera presents a persuasive situation different from the past imaged story. この｢オペラ民吉｣を鑑賞された瀬戸市民は、恐らく、佐賀県佐々町（当時の 肥前藩佐々村）の福本仁左衛門の窯元及び福本家に親近感が沸くでしょう。 Seto citizen who saw and appreciated the opera wouldl feel an affinity for a pottery of Mr. Nizaemon Fukumoto at Sasa Town, Saga Prefecture (Sasa Village, Hizen clan at that time) and Fukumoto family. ｢オペラ民吉｣が佐賀県佐々町でも上演されたら、素晴らしいでしょう。 If the opera is presented by the Saga Prefecture Saza-cho, it might be wonderful. 写真（上から３番目）は肥前（佐賀県）の福本窯での主の福本仁左衛門（右）、 その長女のお涼（中）、民吉（左）です。 Phot (the third from top) shows Mr. Nizaemon Fukumoto (right hand side), his eldest daughter, Oryou (middle) and Tamikichi (left hand side) at the pottery of Fukumoto in Hizen clan. この場面は小生が最も気に入っている場面です。 福本仁左衛門が民吉にお涼を娶って、福本窯にずっといてほしいと頼んで、 民吉が素性を打ち明け、｢鎌倉時代依頼の瀬戸の窯業が有田の磁器に押され、 衰退した事情を説明し、お涼は好きだが、食うや食わずで待っている瀬戸の人 の為に磁器の技術を瀬戸に持ち帰らなければならない｣と言うくだりです。 この後、仁左衛門は働き者の民吉の意思に感銘し、釉薬の調合技術等を教えた。 更に、白い優れた陶土がある瀬戸へ福本窯ごと瀬戸へ移り住もうとさえ 仁左衛門は思ったようです。 This scene is a scene that I like most. That is, Mr. Nizaemon Fukumoto asked Tamikichi to marry his eldest daughter and stay at Fukumoto pottery for a long time. Tamikichi disclosed his identity and explained a situation of Seto village where pottery industry of Seto village was overwhelmed by porcelain of Arita and declined. He continued to explain that he loved her but people in Seto were on the edge of starvation and awaiting his return to Seto and that he must bring back a technology of the manufacturing of porcelain to Seto After hearing his explanation. Nizaemon was impressed with Tamikichi's will and instructed the other technics such as a mixing manner of glazing agents. While, Nizaemon seemed to think that he would like to move to Seto together with his family because he came to know that there were plenty of white china clay of good quality in Seto 最後に、福本窯は民吉が去った後、衰退したという噂があったが、どうも、現実 は逆で、肥前藩の御用窯となり、繁盛したようです。 Finally, although there was a rumor that Fukumoto pottery had declined after Tamikichi left, the reality is opposite, and the pottery became a pottery allowed to supply to Hizen clan and seemed to prosper. |
