２００５年９月第７４回せともの祭74th Setomono Sestival in Sep. 2005

２００５年９月１０日・１１日の２日間、祭開始以来７４年目となる第７４回
｢せともの祭｣が瀬戸市で行われました。
The 74th Setomon Festival was held in Seto City for two days of September
10 and the 11th, 2005. 74 years has passed after the festival had begun.

今年は万博が行われ、又、｢パルティせと｣、｢瀬戸蔵｣という建物が完成したため、
道路規制地域が従来と変わり、露店のレイアウトも変わりました。
２００６年のレイアウトがどうなるか興味があります。
This year in 2005, 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan was held, and new buildings
called "Parti Seto" and "Setogura" were built. Therefe, area of traffic-regulation
changed from the beofre, and the layout of street stalls changed. How the layout
in the year of 2006 will be is interesting.

今年は１１・１２日の２日間で合計３９万人が来瀬。
万博の影響で去年より１８万人少なかったと中日新聞に書いてありました。
A newspaper of The Chunichi Shimbun said the number of the visitors this year
was less than the last year by 180,000 under the influence of the 2005 EXPO.

露天の数が１９０で去年の３００に比べ減っていました。
The number of the stalls was 190 and decreased compared with the one, 300
last year.

今年は、瀬戸市新世紀工芸館も｢瀬戸蔵｣の西側入口付近で露店を出していました。
Staffs of Seto Ceramics and Glass Art Center opened a street stall near west
entrance of "Setogura" this year.

又、せともの人形は２日間の｢せともの祭｣にだけ展示されますが、陶磁器関連の
売上の減少につれ、年々、飾られるせともの人形の数が減ってきています。
"Setomono Doll" (made by porcelain) is displayed only for two days in
"Setomono Festival". The number of displayed "Setomono Doll" has been
decreasing gradually as the sale in ceramic and the related goods decrease.

昔は３～４箇所に別々のせともの人形が飾られていました。
If my memory is correct, 3 to 4 Setomono Dolls were displayed in the past.

その年に流行した物を題材として（一般的には大河ドラマ）、せともの人形が
作られるようです。
A roman drama and the like that becomes popular at the year will be adoped
as a theme and "Setomono Doll" seemes to be produced.

写真は｢瀬戸蔵｣４階の｢瀬戸伝統陶芸展｣に展示してあった内の１つの織部の
抹茶茶碗を示しています。
いろいろ展示してある中で、特に気に入ったのでじっと見ていたら、係りの方が
この茶碗の作家を紹介されたので、ご本人（松山　誠　氏｢GALLERY松山｣所有）
に確認しHPに載せることを了解頂きました。
The photograph shows a tea bowl of Oribe glaze, one of exhibits at　"Seto
Traditional Ceramic Art Exhibition" at the fourth floor of "Setogura"
I was pleased with the tea bowl and stared at it. Then a person in charge
introduced me to a ceramic artist of it. The ceramic artist himself
allowed me to upload it to my web page. (He ownes Gallery Matsuyama)

この茶碗は実は、通常の１３００℃の焼成温度ではなく、薪を焚き口へ入れたり
の温度コントロールがうまく行かなくて、１４００℃弱の高温で焼けたが、土が
この温度に耐えて、偶然に風合いのある釉が掛かった状態になったと説明を
受けました。
He explained as follows:
He throwed firewoods to a fire door but could not control temperature
as he expected. So the tea bowl was fired at temperature, about 1400℃
, not at 1300℃. The china clay could withstand that high temperature,
1400℃ and produced by chance pottery with attractive or tasteful
glaze

現物でないと、わかりにくいですが、通常の織部と風合いが違い、うならせる傑作
でした。
It is difficult to appreciate the tea bowl really since the actual one is different
from the one shown in the photo. The taste is different from the one of a tea
bowl with usual Oribe glaze. I could not suppress an admiration when I saw it.
