| 2006年9月2日付け中日新聞記事で｢新月伐採｣という見出しに興味が湧き、 同日、瀬戸市朝日町の｢和紙クラフト アトリエ ぼだいじゅ｣へ行って見てきました。 ここは古民家久米邸内にあります。 I got interested in an article "Cut down in New moon" on The Chunichi Shimbun of September 2, 2006. So, on the same day of September 2, I went to gallery shop "Japan Paper Craft Atelier Bodaiju" <Bodaiju means tree of Buddha.) at Asahi-machi, Seto City. The allery shop is in an Old private house, Kume House. 今年（2006年）１月15日伐採の｢満月の楮（コウゾ）｣と同月26日伐採の｢新月の楮｣で それぞれ作られた和紙が比較の為に展示され、実際に、夫々の和紙を触ってみたら、 ｢新月の楮｣で作られた和紙は硬かった。 Each Japan Paper made respectively by "Paper Mulberry in full moon" cut down on January 15, 2006 and "Paper Mulberry in New moon" cut down on January 26 in same year was exhibited for comparison. I touched them and found "Paper Mulberry in New moon" hard. また、新月に伐採した木と満月に伐採した木（直径８ｃｍ位、厚み１ｃｍ位）の年輪の 状態も見せてもらったが、新月に伐採した木では、年輪の間隔が狭く、円い形を していた。 Distance between annual rings of tree (8 cm in diameter, 1 cm in thickness) cut down in new moon was narrower than the one of tree cut down in full moon. In addtion, shape of the rings was close to circle. 更に、上記新月に伐採した木に載せていた急須でお茶を出して頂いた。お話によると、 この場合、お茶が甘くなるということでした。 Tea was served by a tea pot put on the tree cut down in new moon. It was said that the served tea became sweeter. 新聞に書かれているように、新月（特に冬の）に伐採すると、伐採した木に水分、栄養分、 細菌類が少ないので、丈夫で高品質な木材になるのであろう、と納得しました。 The article said that the tree cut down in new moon is low in water, nutriment and bacillus, leading to high quality and solid wood. I understood. |

| 楮の木 ＜昨年（2005年）、愛媛県から取り寄せた苗木が古民家久米邸の 庭で成長し、今年(2006年）1月15日（満月）と1月26日（新月）に伐採。 伐採後高さ３０ｃｍ位の高さになったが、８ヶ月も経たないうちに、 ３ｍ程の高さに成長した楮の木＞ Tree of Paper Mulberry <Seedlings of Paper Mulberry sent from Ehime Prefecture in the year of 2005 grew at the garden of Old private house, Kume House. The trees were cut in full moon (Jan. 15) and new moon (Jan. 26) in 2006 to the height of about 30 cm. In about 8 months, the trees grew to the height of about 3 m.> |
