窯神神社と加藤民吉 Kamagami Jinja shrine and Kato Tamikichi (Photos taken on Nov. 26, 2006) |
2006年11月26日「パルティせと」から北を見たら、窯神神社の紅葉が 綺麗だったので、久しぶりに行ってきました。今日、瀬戸市の陶磁器産業 があるのは、江戸時代の加藤民吉、津金文左衛門胤臣父子及び加藤唐左衛門の お陰です。 Tinted autumnal leaves at Kamagami Jinja shrine were beautiful when looking north at "Parti Seto" in Seto City on November 26, 2006. So, I went to the shrine after a long interval. Seto City owes the longest history of ceramic industry in the world mainly to the following people in Edo era (1642-1868): Mr. Kato Tamikichi (acquirer of technique on manufacturing of and glazing for porcelain) Mr. Tsugami Bunzaemon Taneomi, Atsuta magistrate and his son Mr. Kato Tozaemon, businessman with political contacts in the domain of Owari (Aichi Pref. at present) |
加藤民吉出生の地 <名鉄尾張瀬戸駅から徒歩3分、 更に、ここから徒歩7分で窯神神社> Birth place of Kato Tamikichi <About 3 minutes walk from Meitetsu railway station "OwariSeto". Kamagami Jinja shrine is about 7 minutes walk from the birth place.> |

左に見えるのは柞(いす)の木です <九州の修行を偲んで植えられている。 当時、染付焼きに描いた青色の染付が滲むのを 防ぐ為に柞の木の灰が釉薬に使われた> Tree, "Isu" is seen at left hand side of the photo. <"Gosu" is "Zaffer" which is oxidization cobalt containing impurities, such as manganese and iron. When picture drawn on the body with "Gosu" was glazed, the picture was spread on the surface and was not clear. "Isubai" (Ash made of a tree called "Isu") was used as a glazing agent, such spreading of the picture on the body surface did not occur, and the picuture became clear. |
