清豊寺古窯苑祭Seihoji Ancient Kiln Park Festival

２００５年８月６日午後、愛知県豊田市の中京大学豊田キャンパス内にある清豊寺古窯苑で
清豊寺古窯苑祭の一環としての｢直径２ｍの陶製地球儀の各部分と各作家の作品の窯詰め｣
＜窯詰め：8月１日～7日＞を見学してきました。
I went to Seihoji Ancient Kiln Park in Toyota campus of Chukyo University located in Toyota City,
Aichi Prefecture in the afternoon of August 6, 2005. I looked on "Packing of works of each ceramic
artist and each component of a ceramic terrestrial globe of 2m in diameter into Seihoji Ancient Kiln
(the style of this kiln is called "Ohgama" in Japanese ) as a part of "Seihoji Ancient Kiln Park Festival"
The packing is expected to be completed for the period of Aug. 1 through Aug. 7, 2005

寺田康雄氏が大窯の内部に作品を詰められていました。　以前、窯詰めには、炎の回り方とか
温度の分布など蓄積されたノウハウが必要だと聞いた事があります。（写真参照）　
Mr. Yasuo Terada has been packing those works and components into the "Ohgama". I have heard
before that know-how such as knowledge of flow of flame or distribution of temperature is needed for
the packing. (See photo below.)

英国の陶芸家ジェイソン・ウェイソン氏と画家のボブ・モーリー氏がおられたので、｢まる窯｣を背景
に写真を撮らせて頂きました。（写真参照）
両氏は英国のお互いの自宅が１０ｋｍ位しか離れていないそうです。
Mr. Jason Wason, ceramic artist and Mr. Bob, painter each from the U.K. are participating in
this festival. Both the artists are photographed with "Maru-gama kiln" for a background.
Each artist home in the U.K. seems to be about 10 km away.

＜清豊寺古窯苑祭案内状の一部＞
２００５年夏、清豊寺古窯苑の公開記念として広く国内外から集まった参加者により直径２Ｍの
陶製地球儀制作ワークショップを開催しています。
平行して作られた各作家独自の作品も8月7日からの大窯にて焼成し、8月25日から名古屋丸善
にて合同展示を開催致します。彫刻、絵画、陶芸、ジャンルを超えた作家達が400年前の大窯
に何を求め、挑んだか、一大コラボレーションを楽しんで頂けたら幸せです。
＜Part of invitation card for Seihoji Ancient Kiln Park Festival＞
Production workshop of ceramic terrestrial globe with about 2 m in diameter is held by participants
who gather from domestic and abroad in commemoration of opening of "Seihoji Ancient Kiln Park"
to the public in summer, 2005.
Work of each artist produced In parallel will be fired at "Ohgama" kiln from Augssut 7, and exhibited
jointly at Maruzen Nagoya from August 25, 2005. What do artists beyond a genre such as sculpture,
picture or ceramic art seek and challenge in the "Ohgama" of 400 years ago? My happiness is that
visitors enjoy this big collaboration.
