小原村の四季桜

愛知県西加茂郡小原村は母の実家があり、瀬戸市の東約３５ｋｍの位置にあります。
四季桜は１年に２度春と秋に花をつけます。
小原村の医師が江戸時代に苗を植えたのが最初で、親木となり広まったとの事。
周囲の紅葉とほどよく調和し、夜はライトアップもされ、なかなか風情があります。
全国的にも、珍しく、小原村のほか、鎌倉の”冬桜”、三重県白子の”不断桜”、
静岡三ケ日の”十月桜”が有名。

My mother's dead parents' house is in Obara village, located 35 km east of Seto city.
Four Seasons Cherry blossoms twice a year, spring and autumn.
The origin: A doctor in Obara village planted young plants in Edo era(1642 - 1867),
and they became parent tree and spreaded around the region.
It is harmonized with the surounding tinted autumnal leaves and lit up at night,
making the environs attractive.
They are very rare, and are seen in Kamakura city(cherry called 'Winter Cherry'),
Shiroko town in Mie prefecture (cherry called 'Ceaseless Cherry') and
Mikkabi town in Shizuoka prefecture(cherry called 'October Cherry') and the others.
