２００６年４月１５日（土）と１６日（日）に｢第４５回せと陶祖まつり｣が催されました。
従来、この祭りの名前は｢陶祖まつり｣でしたが、今年から｢せと｣の二文字が
付け加えられ｢せと陶祖まつり｣と変更されました。
"The 45th Seto Toso Festival" was held in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan
on April 15 (Sat) and 16 (Sun), 2006. Although the festival was named "Toso Festival"
until last year, a name, "Seto" was added to "Toso Festival", aiming to identify
the place of the festival from this year of 2006.

この季節、余り、雨が降らないはずですが、祭りの時はよく雨になります。
The Festival is often caught in the rain although it does not rain usually in this season.

｢せともの祭｣は１９９８年までは９月の第３土曜・日曜日に催されていましたが、
ほとんどいつも雨にたたられるので、第２土曜・日曜日に変更されました。
"Setomono Festival" was held at every third Saturday and Sunday until the year, 1998.
But, the Festival was almost always caught in the rain. Then, the days were changed
to the second Saturday and Sunday from the year, 1999.

｢せと陶祖まつり｣も第２土曜・日曜日へ変更すると良いかもしれません。
The rain in "Seto Toso Festival" may be avoided if the festival days will be changed
to the 2nd Saturday and Sunday.

陶都瀬戸市には２つの産業祭　－春の｢陶祖まつり｣と秋の｢せともの祭｣があります。
Seto City, capital of ceramics has two industrial festivals which are"Toso Festival"
in spring and "Setomono Festival" in autumn

｢陶祖まつり｣は瀬戸市の陶祖である加藤藤四郎の遺徳を偲ぶ祭りであり、
｢せともの祭｣は瀬戸市の磁祖である加藤民吉の遺徳を偲ぶ祭りです。
"Toso Festival" commemorates the deceased Mr. Toshiro Kato, founder of pottery
business in Seto City, and
"Setomono Festival"does the deceased Mr. Tamikichi Kato, founder of porcelain
business in Seto City.

産業祭は瀬戸市全体をミュージアムとし、産業観光で瀬戸市を活性化しようと
標榜する瀬戸市の｢せと・まるっとミュージアム｣化にとって大きなイベントです。
The festivals are big events for Seto City who seems to vitalize Seto City through
industrial tour realized by making its whole area like museum.

秋の｢せともの祭｣に比べると、露店もお客さんも少ないので、ゆったりと陶器や陶磁器
を見学できます。
There are far fewer fair stalls and visitors in this festival than in "Setomono Festival".
Therefore, the visitors can feel easy in seeing and searching for favorite pottery
or porcelain.

３０のイベントが瀬戸市内各地であり、とても回りきれないので、市内を散策して見た
風景写真をご紹介し、｢第４５回陶祖まつり｣の雰囲気の一端に触れていただけたらと
思います。
It is impossible to look around all the places since 30 events were hold at various
places in Seto City. A part of atmosphere of the festival will be felt by the following
pictures.
