２００５年５月１日世界一のバラ園を見ようと岐阜県可児市にある花フェスタ記念公園で開催
中の｢花フェスタ２００５ぎふ｣へ行き、帰宅途中｢土岐プレミアム・アウトレット｣へ寄りました。
I went to"Flower Festa 2005 Gifu" held in Flower Festa Memorial Park in Kani-City,
Gifu Pref. to see No.1 rose garden in the world onMay 1, 2005. On the way to my home,
I dropped in "Toki Premium Outlets".

開園（９時３０分）の１０分前に駐車場へ到着できましたが、もう１０分遅れていたら、１ｋｍ
〜２ｋｍ位の距離にある臨時駐車場から歩いて会場へ行くか、送迎バス（シャトルバス）を
利用しなければならなかった。
We arrived to the Park 10 minutes before opening of 9:30. If we were ten minutes behind
the time, we must walk there about 1 to 2 km or use a pickup bus (shuttle bus).

午後１時頃、見学を終えて、｢土岐プレミアム・アウトレット｣へ行こうと乗車したら、雨。
When we were about to go to "Toki Premium Outlets" after seeing flowers around
1:00 p.m., it begun to rain.

バラの見頃は５月中旬から下旬で本来の目的は達成できなかったが、温室で咲いている
薔薇やお花畑などを見て、それなりに満足しました。　特に｢ターシャの庭｣＜（注）参照＞
という新しい企画が実施されていて、配置や色合い等、繊細な配慮がされた家・庭・花・
道具等が素晴らしく、良い気分になりました。
The best time to see roses is between the middle and the last of May. So, my purpose to
see roses at their best could not be attained. Roses which were in bloom at greenhouse and
flower gardens were interesting in their way. Especially, a project, "Tasha Tudor's Garden"
＜See Note＞ was fantastic since it was almost perfect in the arrangement, coloring, house,
garden, flower, tools, etc.

薔薇は新種の名前が次々作られるようです。　青い薔薇｢ブルーヘブン｣とかピンク色の薔薇
｢プリンセス・サヤコ｣、黄色の薔薇｢ハイネス愛｣、　ショッキングピンク色の薔薇｢ハイネス雅
（みやび）｣等。青紫色の薔薇｢シャルル・ド・ゴール｣に似た薔薇が花トピアホールへの
アプローチに咲いていました。
It seemed that new names are allocated when new species for roses are produced.
The examples are "Blue Heaven" for blue roses, "Princess Sayako" for roses in pink,
"Highness Ai" for yellow roses, "Highness Miyabi" for roses in shocking-pink
Roses, which looked like roses in blue-purple, "CHARLES DE GALLE", were in bloom at
an approach to "Hanatopia Hall".

同じような青色（又は青紫色）でも、どこかが違うのでしょう。　実際に咲いている薔薇の色、
形、香りを比較すると分かると思います。　｢シャルル・ド・ゴール｣（２００３年６月７日
｢春のバラフェスタ２００３｣で見た）は全てで最高でした（独断）。
All the same, "CHARLES DE GALLE" was different slightly from the resemblance in color,
shape and scent. ("CHARLES DE GALLE" was seen at "Rose Fest in spring 2003") was
best in all aspects. (web writer's own judgment)

｢土岐プレミアム・アウトレット｣では小雨が降り続いていましたが、各ショップの屋根の軒先が
長いので、雨で濡れることもなく、又、ショップのレイアウトが整然としており、短時間で全体を
見て回れました。
Although it was drizzling at "Toki Premium Outlets", I did not get wet with rain because of
long eaves of each shop. I could look around for short time since the layout of the shops is
in good order.

昼食は午後１時40分頃、摂りました。　天井が高いフードコートは物凄い長い行列で、すぐ諦め、
｢Soup Stock Tokyo｣という｢食べるスープ｣が特徴のレストランで｢黒豚のストロガノフ＋パン｣と
｢東京参鶏湯（さんげたん）＋パン｣のレギュラーセットをかみさんと食べました。
We had lunch at about 1:40 p.m. I gave up eating at a high ceilinged meal eating place
because very long queues were formed, and ate regular set of "black pork stroganoff
+ bread" and "Sangetan (Korean cuisine soup with hicken meat) + bread" with my wife.
at a restaurant, "Soup Stock Tokyo" which is characterized by "eating soup".

＊東海環状自動車道に乗ろうと道路標識通りに行ったら、一般道に入ってしまった。

（注）｢ターシャの庭｣
　≪｢花フェスタ２００５ぎふ｣で頂いた｢ターシャの庭｣紹介パンフレットを引用≫
岐阜県オープンガーデン協会会員や岐阜県・愛知県在住の庭を愛する３０人ほどで結成
された庭園愛好家グループ全員の協力の下で作庭された。
｢ターシャの庭｣とは、庭園愛好家グループが、アメリカの挿絵画家・童話作家・ガーデナー
でありスローライフでエコロジカルな自給自足の生活を実践するターシャ・デューダ氏に憧れ、
日本でターシャが暮らしていたらこんな庭になるのではとの想いを膨らませ作庭したものです。
メンバーそれぞれがテーマを持って植物を選び、ターシャになったつもりでシェードコーナー・
ワイルドフラワーコーナー・キッチンコーナーなどを作りました。　また既存の東屋を改装し、
日本の伝統的な生活用品を集め、ターシャのライフスタイルに合わせ和風にコーディネート
しました。 開催期間中は、東屋の中ではフェルト人形展などの企画展が開催され、ガーデン
コンサート（月2回）も企画しています。 ターシャの庭を覗いて頂き、そんなに昔ではないのに
遠のいてしまった和風のスローライフを一緒に体験してみませんか。
＜Note＞"Tasha Tudor's Garden"
≪Quoted from pamphlet introducing "Tasha Tudor's Garden" received at the Festa ≫
A Garden lovers' group is formed by Gifu Prefecture Open Garden Association member
and about 30 people who love gardens and live in Gifu or Aichi Prefectures. The Garden
was made by the cooperation from the group.
Tasha is illustrator, writer of stories for children and gardener, and lives a slow, ecological
and self sufficient life in the U.S.A. The garden was created based on the imagination that
if Tasha lived a life in Japan, she would make the above garden.
Each member of the group choosed a plant with a theme in their mind, made a shade corner,
wild flower corner, kitchen corner and the others.
They redecorated an existing arbor, collected Japanese traditinal household or kitchen
utensils and coordinated the arbor to Japanese style in conformity with her life style.
Exhibitions such as felt doll exhibition are hold inside the arbor during the opeing of the
Festa and garden concerts (2 times/month) are planed.
Why don't you drop in "Tasha Tudor's Garden" and experience Japanese style slow
life together which life was ordinary not so long ago but was past far way.
